Gambian Writers webstite maintain by Cherno O Barry

IN PUSHUIT OF ACAMADIC EXECELLENCE
Gambians interested in writing and documenting their ideas and thought are hereby notify of an avenue created by our able and dedicated brother, Cherno Omar Barry.
The Gambian writers’ website, www.Gamwriters.com is a platform where interested Gambians can send their thesis and articles for publication. This website if manage by brother Cherno Omar Barry of the University of The Gambia. The reason I believe Mr Barry is undertaking a noble venture is to do with the fact that, we are way behind many other nations in terms of knowledge creation and management.
Imagine the resources that will be available to Gambian students and experts spread across the globe with a data base of interesting and relevant articles and information about books. Brother Cherno Barry’s site has the whole lot. What the site needs now is the willingness for us to send him our articles and information’s about books written by Gambians.
Regularly we see Gambian students quoting other people in their academic writings. Gambian students in different universities find it hard to have resources about the Gambia, this difficulty put Gambian student off taking any research topic about the Gambia. This is very sad and embarrassing for us all in this day and age. If we want to change our country, we must start by creating a wealth of knowledge data base. We can readily have information about the Gambia by Gambians. This can be quoted in our thesis and research course works.
Whatever article you have with you, send it to info@gamwriters.com. You can also visit the blog, www.gamwriters.blogspot.com.
Wouldn’t it be nice to cite a Gambian brother or sister once in awhile in our course works and dissertations? The site is respectable and academically resourceful. The effort of Cherno Barry deserves our collective commendations. Some new book information’s are already available on the sites. Whatever is lying in your desk or disk may be of use to many interested Gambians, so get it out and make it available to the wider Gambian readership.
